Our Little Firecrackers, Abby is Growing Up, & Micah Wrestles his Bear

Last week was the 4th of July. That is normally one of my favorite holidays because my home town usually has a really fun celebration. So, we got up early Friday morning and traveled to Annabella. Let's just say that it was disappointing. It just was not what I had remembered. However, Micah did finally run in a race! That I was excited about. We've tried to get him to do it every year and this year, he finally did it. Actually, he ran two races. For the three-year-old race, he got a little nervous and didn't really get into it. So, as soon as it was over, he took off and ran his very own race. Then, when it was the four-year-old's turn, he wanted to race again. I figured that no one would care, unless he won and then they might have to verify his age (yeah right). :)
Anyway, here is a picture of Micah and Abby all dressed up in their new 4th of July outfits. As you can tell, Abby's dress was a little bit big on her and it kept falling down. I did fix it later and it looked a lot better.

Here is Abby drinking formula from her sippy cup. Yep, that's right, she's drinking formula. She has been officially weaned and I think it was a lot harder on me than it was on her. The only time she really seems to miss nursing is at night. It's just another reminder to me that my babies are growing up. I know they are only 3 and 9 months, but the time has gone by quickly.

See what I mean? Abby is looking more grown up every day.

Here is a pic of Abby crawling away from the laundry basket. She loves to try to climb in it when I'm folding laundry.

Now that she is mobile, Abby is all over the place. If we forget to close a door, she will promptly crawl right in there.

The other day, Micah got this gigantic bear out of the storage closet and played with it all day. When it was time for lunch, I told him to sit at the table. The next thing I know, the bear is sitting at the table too. Micah was laughing and smiling from ear to ear about it. I asked Micah what the bear wanted to eat and he said, "Hash browns & eggs."

Later in the day, I was folding laundry in the living room when I hear Micah yelling, "Help me! Help me!" I ran into the kitchen to find this. I started laughing and Micah said, "The bear got me, mom!"

It looks like Micah won the wresting match with the bear.
