5 Minutes

Micah is very sweet and is so good with Abby. He loves her, is protective of her, and just looks out for her. The other day, I took him to preschool and as he was getting out of the car, Abby started crying and reached for Micah. Micah realized that Abby did not want him to go, so he got back in the car, gave her a hug, kissed her on the forehead and said, "Don't cry, Abby. I'll be back in 5 minutes." Micah's concept of time is a little off, but I thought it was so sweet that he recognized that Abby was sad because he was leaving.

Micah's an Artist & Abby Loves Suckers

Micah loves Star Wars and Batman. Here are his very own versions of Darth Vader and The Joker. Pretty good, huh?

Abby loves suckers. In this picture, I was trying to take it away from her, so she put it in her mouth and would absolutely not let it go.

One night, Heath thought it would be cute to put Abby's hair in a Mohawk. As you can tell from the picture, Abby thinks it looks great!

More Cute Stories

It snowed the other day, so when Micah woke up, I told him to look out the window. He did and he was so excited to see the snow. He proudly exclaimed, "Mom! It's snowing!" He then looked out the window again and exclaimed, "It's snowing at Max and Micah's house too!" I said, "Yeah, it's snowing at Tyler's house too." Micah then looks down the street towards Tyler's house and says,"No, it's not snowing over there."

Later in the day, Micah was sitting on the potty. I heard him yell, "Help me!" so I ran in there thinking I would need to wipe him. When I got in there, there was a fly sitting on Micah's knee. He said, "Get it off, get it off." I shewed it away and off it flew. Micah then said, "I guess that's what happens when I don't mind." I think I must say that too much. Poor kid thinks that anything out of the ordinary happens because he wasn't minding. :)

A Couple of Funny Stories

Micah seems to crack me up every day. Yesterday, I was trying to get him to clean his room. After hours of nothing getting done, I told him that I would help him. Things were going well and I was actually beginning to see the floor in his room, when I realized that he had disappeared. I started looking around and found him in the master bedroom. He was curled up in the bed, sound asleep. Micah hates taking naps and rarely does it anymore, but I guess he would rather sleep than have to clean his room.
Micah is obsessed with the Joker. He loves super heroes and wants the Batman Bat Cave for Christmas. He knows that the Joker is a "mean guy" and we keep telling him that he can't have a mean guy. He knows that with the Bat Cave you can get a Batman figurine and one other one. I keep showing him the Bat mobile, Robin, etc., but he always wants the Joker figure. So, the other day, he runs up to me, shows me the picture of the Batman Bat Cave, points to the Joker and says, "Mom! The Joker went nice!" I tell ya, the wheels in his head are always turning. :)

So Much...

Wow! I didn't realize that I had not posted since early October. Sorry about that. Here are some pics to make up for it. :)

Here are my three favorite people ready for trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Micah was a Miami Dolphins Football Player (you can't see it, but he even had #13 on his back (ode to Dan Marino)), and Abby was a Poodle Skirt Girl. Again, you can't tell, but she did have an actual poodle on her skirt. Her name was also on there.

Micah absolutely loved Halloween. I would dare say it was right up there with Christmas for him. It wasn't just a day, it was an entire week. It started with our ward Halloween Carnival and Trunk-or-Treat on Tuesday night, his preschool party and trick-or-treating at my old office on Thursday, and ended with trick-or-treating at Heath's bank and going out as a family Friday night.

Abby discovered that she loves suckers. As we were trick-or-treating on Friday night, we gave her an orange Tootsie Pop. She sucked that entire thing (even the tootsie roll) right down to the stick.

The week before Halloween, we carved pumpkins for Family night. Here is Abby trying to eat hers.

This is what she looked like after she tried to eat it. She and Micah had painted this one with markers and they rubbed off onto her face.

Here is my pumpkin (it was actually a squash). I'm horrible at carving, so I just drew a little picture. You can't see it, but I drew a family portrait on the back of it.

Here is Micah's pumpkin. He was so proud of it.

Here is Heath's pumpkin. This is actually what he looks like when he wakes up in the morning or when the Dolphins lose. :)

A couple weeks ago, I took the kids to visit my parents in Annabella. My mom and I took them to a pumpkin patch in Elsinore. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen. An older gentleman in town loves kids so much that he grows several acres of pumpkins for them each year. He lets them come out to his farm and pick out whatever pumpkin they want. He also takes them on a train ride and a hay ride out to the actual patch. He drops you off and then waits patiently as you pick your pumpkin. He then loads you up and takes you back to your car. It was so much fun and the kids loved it. I definitely think we will make this trip a tradition.

Micah picked out each an every one of these pumpkins. We got all of these for $1.00

Micah sitting on one of his "huge" pumpkins. He kept running around saying, "Mom, I found a huge one! A huge one!"

Abby didn't seem to love the pumpkins as much as Micah did. Maybe next year?

While we were in Annabella, Grandpa took Micah on his first fishing trip. It was so cute to see them sitting on the bank of the stream together. Grandpa would throw out the line and make sure the fishing lure was placed just right, and then he would hand the pole over to Micah. They didn't catch a fish, but Micah didn't care. Just getting to hold the pole and be with Grandpa was enough for him.

My sister-in-law, Danae and I took our kids to Gardner Village. It was a lot of fun to walk around and see all the witches. Here is Micah posing in front of one of the displays. The witches are really amazing. For anyone who hasn't been, it's definitely a trip worth taking.

When Micah saw this witch "flying" through the air, he said, "Wow! An E.T. witch!" I laughed so hard at that one. One of the things I love most about Micah is that he makes me laugh every day.

Micah's preschool class recently went on a field trip to the Provo Fire Station. This is a picture of him all dressed up in his Fire Captain hat before we left. He was so excited to go. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have because Abby came with us and I couldn't put her down to take any pictures. Micah had a blast though. At one point, he was standing right next to a real fireman who let him hold his helmet. Micah was pretty excited about it. The real excitement came next though as the fireman put his helmet and oxygen mask on. He turned the oxygen on so the kids could hear him talk with it. Micah's eyes got big and he said, 'Mom! It's Darth Vader!" Still laughing...

Several weeks ago, Micah's preschool class went to Cornbelly's. Micah wasn't feeling very well, but really wanted to go, so we went anyway. You can tell by this pic that he just wasn't feeling himself.
Even though he wasn't feeling well, he still had a great time.

There were tons of fun things for the kids to do. This is one of those big jumping pillows. It was cool because you could jump on it and slide down the sides of it. I'm not sure which Micah liked best.

When we saw this, Micah said, "Is that grandpa's tractor?"

Micah and his cute friends, Noah and Tyler. They are in his preschool class as well as our ward.

The last time I posted, it was Abby's first birthday. Here is a picture of her party. It was lots of fun and she got tons of great toys and cute clothes. This is a ball that uncle Beau gave her. It has Abby Cadabby on it.

Can you believe the mound of presents? Micah scouted them out for quite awhile before we actually started opening them. He was a big help with that. :)

What Does Micah Want to Be When He Grows Up?

The other day, I gave Micah a fortune cookie. The fortune said, "Your career path looks bright." I said, "Wow, Micah. Maybe you'll be a doctor when you grow up." He looked at me and said, "No! A football player!" I'm still laughing about that one.

Not Only is it Abby's Birthday, but She's a Supermodel Too!

Not only is it Abby's birthday today, but we got these pictures back. They turned out so cute.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Abby!

Today is Abby's 1st birthday. Happy Birthday! I can't believe that one year ago today, we had just had our beautiful little Abigail. She has grown and changed so much in a year. It's amazing how much she has already learned. She does Peek-A-Boo, waves hi and bye, walks while holding onto something, babbles constantly, and says, "ma ma", "da da", "ba ba" (bottle), "hi", "bye bye", and we swear she said "Sponge bob" once. She also does the signs for all done, more, and love you. It's so cute when she pats her chest to say, "Love you!" She loves to play with cars and follows Micah all over the house. She adores him and if he is around, she just looks as him like he walks on water. She makes noises to get his attention and even wrestles with him. They are the best of friends and it couldn't be more sweet.
We love our little Abby so much and feel so blessed to have her. What a great life we live!

This is a picture of Abby that I took today. The only way I could get her to hold still for a second was to let her climb in her car seat. She loves to climb in and out of that thing, but absolutely hates being strapped in.

Tonight, we had a little birthday party for her. It was just the four of us and it was tons of fun. We had Hostess cupcakes with candles in them. I put a pink candle in Abby's and when Micah saw it, he insisted on having a candle in his too. So, I put a green one in his. Before I got close enough to Abby though, Micah blew the candles out. It was cute and Abby didn't mind. She had her eye on the cupcakes and just wanted to eat.

She loved the cupcake. She ate almost the entire thing. It was so cute to see her get it all over her hands and face. It got all over the rest of her too, which is exactly why we took her shirt off.

Can't you just see how much she in enjoying it?

I love this picture because she looks so proud of herself.

Micah also had a blast. He loves Hostess cupcakes, so he was in heaven. He knows what it means to have a birthday party, so he was so excited all day long.

This is what Micah looked like when his cupcake was all gone. Right after I took the picture, he asked for another one.

After we finished off the cupcakes, we put Abby's shirt back on and took her to the living room to open some presents. Her big party is on Saturday, so we only gave her two of her gifts. As you can see from this picture, Micah was a big help opening them.

She got a set of five soft cars from Micah and a cute little musical turtle from daddy. I guess my gift was her outfit. I bought her tons of clothes, but didn't bother to wrap them because I knew she wouldn't get excited about them.

Abby and her turtle. Heath really wanted to get her a special gift just from him. When we went shopping, he immediately saw this and showed it to her. She loved it and played with it (while it was still in the package) all the way out the store and back to the house. I had to pry it out of her hands to put it away for her actual birthday.

She loved playing with the gift bags and the tissue paper.

Here is Micah showing Abby how to play with the cars he got her. When we took him shopping for a gift to give Abby, he saw these and just knew they were exactly what she would like. He was right too- she loves them.

It was so cute watching them play with Abby's new toys. Micah kept telling her, "Share your birthday toys with me, k."

Here is a picture of Abby and her daddy. Abby adores her dad and lets him torture her when he holds her down and smothers her with kisses. She gets so excited when he comes home each day. She crawls over to him and makes cute little noises until he picks her up. Once she's in his arms, she smiles from ear to ear.

Okay, so I broke down and actually put a picture of myself on here. I figure it was such a nice day, I don't really care how I look. I just feel like the luckiest mom in the world to have the two most beautiful children. They keep me busy and challenge me on a daily basis, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I love my life. :)
Happy Birthday, Abby! We love you!

For the past six weeks, Micah has been playing soccer. His team is DC United. He finished up last Saturday. Here is a picture of his team doing a cheer. They did lots of cute cheers to get the kids excited about what they had just done or what they were going to be doing next.

Here is Micah waiting in line for a piece of candy. I think this was his favorite part of each day.

Last Saturday, we played kids against parents. The kids scored 5 goals and the poor parents couldn't even manage one. Each of the kids scored too. It was lots of fun and Micah was quite proud of himself when he got his goal.

Just a cute picture of Heath and Abby that I took awhile back. Too cute not to post.
