Abby Funny
Yesterday, Abby and I were grocery shopping at WalMart. She was misbehaving, so I told her to sit down and then I started counting, "one, two...." It rarely gets past two, because she knows that she will get in trouble if I say "three!" So, she sat down and was being pretty good. As we continued our shopping, we turned down an aisle where a mother was trying to get her small son to sit down and behave. Abby saw this, leaned over her cart and started yelling,"Hey! Uh, you....one....two" (with fingers held up in appropriate positions). I, being a bit embarrassed that my 2-year-old felt the need to try to discipline someone else's child, apologized to the mother. The mother started laughing and said, "Hey, maybe he will listen to her. Her certainly won't listen to me."
So, what happened? The little boy promptly sat back down in the cart and they continued their shopping.
Abby's going to be a great mother. :)

Abby's Best Friend
This is how I found Abby yesterday. She was snuggling on the couch with best friend, Dora. They were watching, "Dora" on tv, and Abby was drinking from her favorite Dora water bottle. You can't tell, but underneath the blanket is her Dora blankie and Dora baby.
Bowling
We took the kids bowling last night. I don't think I've ever seen Micah have so much fun. The kid was seriously in heaven. He loved every single second of it. He had so much fun in fact that once that he bowled several of my frames for me. And, as you can see, he's actually a pretty good bowler. In Heath's defense, I must point out that he was having an especially off bowling night. He typically scores around 190-200.

My "Big Kid"
This is my "big kid"...

The other day, Micah brought home a paper with information regarding Kindergarten registration. While I am excited for him to start school, I am also a bit sad about it. How is it possible that my baby, my first-born, is old enough to go to "big kid school"?
Micah is a wonderful kid and such a blessing. He is funny, and smart, and curious, and sweet, and feisty, and active, and loving, and creative, and happy, and full of life, and giving....I could go on and on and on.
He adores his preschool and has done so well. He works hard and wants to be a good student. Micah has had to work really hard on his speech and it is amazing to see how far he has come. It has not been easy, and oh so frustrating, but how wonderful it is to know that all that work has paid off. Micah can communicate with pretty much anyone now. His trepidation about not being understood is fading away and his confidence is building.
Micah and I have a little thing we say to each other everyday. I say, "Micah, why do I love you so much?" And he exclaims, "Because I made you a mom!" I know he doesn't understand the full magnitude of my love for him, but I hope he feels it in some way, and I hope he will always feel it, because even though he's a "big kid" and will be going to "big kid school" very soon, he will always be my baby.
