I Did It!

I did it! I quit my job! It was a lot tougher than I had thought it would be, but I finally made the decision and it feels right. I'm really excited about being home with Micah and Abby. I'm super excited about doing Preschool with Micah. I've been doing a little of it since I've been off on maternity leave, but starting in January, I will be doing it twice a week. I'll probably work on potty training Micah too. I'm not looking forward to that.

Anyway, it's an exciting new chapter in my life. Being home has been a lot tougher than I imagined, but I know it will pay off in the long run. I'll really miss my co-workers, who have been my friends for the past 10 years, but I know I will still see them and get to do lunch with them every-once-in-awhile.

Happy Birthday Uncle Cory!

Like I've said before, Micah loves playgrounds. Here he is playing on one of those metal bouncy animals you see frequently at McDonald's Play Land. What you can't tell from this picture is that we were actually at a park in SLC celebrating Cory's birthday. While everyone else was eating Carne Asada Tacos, Spanish rice, fruit salad, and Tres Leches cake, Micah was running around trying out every piece of play equipment. It was a fun day and it was nice to spend Cory's birthday wtih the family.

Funny Story...

A few nights back, I was getting the bath ready for Micah. He was really hot and sweaty because he had gone on a walk with daddy. On the walk, they ran into our neighbors, who also have a two-year-old little boy. So, while daddy talked to the neighbor, Micah and Jacob ran around the yard and jumped on the trampoline. Anyway, I guess I wasn't getting the bath ready fast enough because when I went to get Micah to get him undressed, I found him already in the tub. He was completely dressed, except for one shoe, and he had his favorite Nemo bath toy in the tub with him. I called Heath into the bathoom to see what had happened and Micah just looked at him like, "You should have been faster."

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when Heath's parents were out here visiting. When it was time to leave, Micah held onto Gampy and wouldn't let him go. Later in the day, when Micah woke up from his nap, the first thing he asked for was Gampy. When Heath reminded him that his grandparents had gone home, Micah sadly said, "Popi gone bye bye." I should probably explain some of the teminology used in this post. We call Grandma and Grandpa Garner, "Gammy" and "Gampy." That is how grandparents are referred to in Jamaica. Heath started it when Micah was born and it just caught on. Micah can't quite say the words yet, so his versions are "Mammy" and "Popi".
